Day 84 of 180 Days of Data Viz Learning #jfdi.

I’m doing some form of data visualization learning for 180 days because I need to #JFDI.  See post explaining how and why I’m doing this.
Code Learning:

Reading Axes, Formatting, and Time Formatting D3 Documentation

Three Takeways:

  • Axes example:
    • D3 axis component displays reference lines for scales automatically.
    • Tick values:
      • var xAxis = d3.svg.axis()
        • .scale(x)
        • .ticketValues([1,2,3]);
  • Format example:
    • Various d3 formatting methods for numbers, etc.
    • d3.round(12.5, 0); // 13
  • Time Format example:
    • For parsing and formatting dates
    • d3.time.format(%Y-%m-%d)

Treehouse Back-to-Basics (again, not taking notes for basic review):

Going through Front-End WebDev

Reading and Learning Data Visualization Theoretically/Critically:
